Anyone that has known me for a long time knows that I’ve had some seriously damaged hair in the past. In middle school I was obsessed with straightening my hair– and it had to be pin straight (OCD? probably). I was seriously out of control with the straightener and it left my hair damaged for years to come. I’ve worked hard to get my hair back to normal, and I think it’s the healthiest it’s ever been. I’m crediting these products for saving my hair, so listen up!
1. MEGAFOOD SKIN, NAILS & HAIR – I’ve taken vitamins for my hair over the years. I recently switched to this supplement from Megafood and can already feel the difference. The key to these supplements is consistency–give it time and take them daily. There’s more than one meaning behind saying “beauty comes from within” — it’s crucial to feed your body the nutrients (and drink tons and tons of water!) to achieve healthy hair and glowy skin. It’s funny that I can’t seem to remember to take a daily vitamin, but if it’s for my hair I will never forget haha! These are available online and at Whole Foods!
2. IT’S A 10 MIRACLE LEAVE IN (FOR BLONDES) – This is my holy grail for hair products. Seriously, life changing. Spray a few pumps of this into your hair before a blow dry and your hair drys shiny, straight, and smooth. Even if you plan to curl your hair (like I do most days) this product makes your hair ready for styling.
3. TRESEME PROTECTIVE SPRAY – Not going to lie, do I remember to use this every day? Nope. Do as I say, not as I do. That being said, this is the only heat protectant that I’ve found does not leave my hair feeling sticky or coarse.
4. MACADAMIA OIL DEEP REPAIR MASQUE – I will use this about twice a month and leave it in for about an hour. If your hair is feeling dry or damaged, this product will give you an instant fix.
5. BABYLISS PRO NANO TITANIUM – You might be thinking, why include a straightener in a hair care post? Straighteners do just the opposite of caring for your hair, I know. But let’s be honest: we’re going to use heat tools on our hair, so at least make sure it’s the least damaging tool on the market. I swear by this straightener (it’s so thin that I use it to curl my hair as well!) because it is so gentle on the hair. It’s so long that you can straighten the majority of your hair in one quick swipe!
